Comments This really excites me! I fully support the building of a much needed sports arena at the Windsor Raceway. The drawings look brilliant!! I've attended the Labatt's Center in London to watch the Spitfires, followed by a game in Windsor. I was so disappointed in our arena - I felt I went from class to trash venues. I don't plan on returning to the Windsor arena in thte state that it's in. I would very much like to see Windsor have a sports complex that we can be proud of and a showplace for our Spitfires. I applaud the Toldo and Rosati families in the efforts. Make it happen for Windsor!!

Comments I think it's a great idea that should do well. But as far as everyone stating that Windsor will do well, I'd have to look at where the Arena would be built exactly, because I was under the impression that Lasalle is the home of the Windsor Raceway facility. As far as entertaiment value goes I think it's a hit though.

Comments Congratulations on your initiative to get on with a very attractive new arena. Your proposal appears to be sound and well conceived.

Comments I think that this project is overdue and please start the ball rolling ASAP.

Comments A large venue for other sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, floor hockey, would be a great asset to this complex. RIM Park in Waterloo is a an outstanding multi purpose venue which would fit well in this region. There are thousands of youths playing organized sports such as the ones mentioned above that are looking for a quality venue to hold leaque games and tournaments. A project like this would fill a definite void of quality space required for the development of youth atheletics in this community.

Comments For years we have tossed around the idea of bringing a new arena project to our great city only to have it crushed. The Rosati and Toldo families are two of most successful families this county has ever seen.... why ? Because they know what it takes to do things properly and successfully. The longer we wait the longer we miss out on great concerts ( other than Jann Arden which we are use to ) and the SPITS could fill the seats every game. Enough chit chat allow the shovels to hit the ground and dig !

Comments I think the Ice Track is a great idea. Windsor needs a larger venue for other events as well. Concerts would be great, finally on this side of the border. It will create more jobs, and with the latest layoff of the Big 3 and the Casino have been devastating.
Hopefully, they are planning to bulid a courtyard area for the smokers.

Comments Would it not be amazing to be able to host an actual concert, by a real band. I'm not knocking the Cleary, Capitol Theatre, but c'mon if you were an musician would you play there and expect any type or real revenue. I hate having to commute to the US all the time just to see somebody live. Good luck guys!

Comments I agree with all the points listed with the exception of #9. The City Of Windsor will benefit more if the arena complex was in downtown Windsor. The small businesses will profit more from the extra traffic generated in the area. Should the arena be built near the raceway, the traffic that is generated already downtown from the hockey games will be lost.
Answer / Rebuttal: Downtown Windsor does not have the space to house an arena project of this magnitude.  Furthermore, parking is very limited in the City.  More people would go to the arena if there were adequate parking facilities.  The City will benefit substantially because we feel very strongly that more people will utilize the arena and the slot program.  Since 1999, City of Windsor has received $18.5 Million in non-tax revenue from the Windsor Raceway slot program.  Project Ice Track is the first of its kind in the area – a family destination that will include family entertainment, hockey, horse racing, gaming, dining, etc.  Windsor’s economy and tourism industry will definitely be improved and thus so will revenues.  The City of Windsor will be the big winners here.

Comments I think this is a great idea. As a worker in the entertainment industry the new venue would be extremely welcomed. Not only as a great new working environment but a place to go with friends and family and enjoy a concert or sporting event. I hope this project takes off in the very near future.
