| Comments | After reading all the recent news releases and viewing the sketches on this site and in the paper, I feel this is an excellent proposal and that your business plan behind it must be as equally impressive. Both the Toldo and Rosati families have clearly proven their business excellence as well as their commitment and involvement within our community throughout the years. There is no doubt in my mind that the proposed Entertainment Complex will definitely become a major tourist destination likely bringing thousan ds of visitors and hundreds of jobs. A new Arena has been in the works and debated for 20 years in Windsor and now is yet another opportunity to get it built at no additional cost to the taxpayers than has already been allotted. The City Of Windsor's Mission Statement coincides with your proposal and reads as follows: "The City Of Windsor with the involvement of citizens, will deliver effective and responsive municipal services, an d will mobilize innovative community partnerships." In my opinion the citizens of Windsor must be scratching their heads in confusion as to why City Council is not rushing to debate this in chambers and iron out a deal while it's still hot. Kudos to this proposal, I am confident as well as everybody I have been speaking to that after careful review there should be no reason for Windsor City Council to turn this one away! |

| Comments | I am a senior citizen, a retiree of Chrysler Canada. I also belong to C A W Local 444, a fact that I am very proud of. Our Union is very community minded and has a record of supporting every cause that is Beneficial to our city and its residents and the citizens of Essex County. We need more family entertainment venues badly and I trust the Toldo & Rosati Groups because of their record of helping in a huge way both financially and physically every worthwhile project in our fair city. I endorse this project without reservation and think it is long past due. I can't wait for its completion. God speed!!! |

| Comments | I think that it's a great idea for the new arena to be built at the Windsor Raceway - you have mine and my husband's support |

| Comments | I think it's a great idea. Windsor needs this especially with the way things are going right now. Saying no to this would be a big mistake. |

| Comments | Love the idea! Definately NEED a state of the art rink & entertainment centre. Nasty looking location though (Ojibway Industrial area right next door) Haven't you got some OTHER land as an alternate? Maybe something US visitors don't have to drive 5 mile out to see? |
| Answer / Rebuttal: | The Windsor Raceway is an ideal spot for travelers from the U.S. and for everyone, as a matter of fact. The Ambassador Bridge is not far away and the 401 is very handy. The new crossing will also be in the vicinity. |

| Comments | I think that this project will be the best one yet for this city and surrounding areas. I enjoy watching hockey games but not downtown at the barn. Last time I went to one I thought it was just wrong to make us stand back and wait behind rolling partitions on the way to the ladies room while the players go to their dressing rooms, what a stench! I like being close, but not that close. Needless to say, I didn't feel much like visiting the snack bar after that. This new complex will no doubt be a better lay out, one that players and spectators will enjoy. |

| Comments | I think that it is about time that someone from the community gets the city off its duff and challenges them to do what we in Windsor have been waiting for for over twenty five years |

| Comments | I think its a great project and I am happy to see the gretsky group is still interested in the city. I would also buy season tickes for hockey, I also would like to see a little larger arena like ten thousand seats so it could go after an AHL team. Good luck with your efforts on this project and hopefuly the city will smarten up and let this project start. |

| Comments | I support the efforts of both the Toldo and Rosati families, and everyone involved. The citizen's of Windsor have waited too long for an entertainment complex. It's time for the City of Windsor, and the powers that be at the helm, to listen to it's constituents. "Build it and they will come." So let's get this party started. |

| Comments | I have been following these proposals for the least 10 years, and I think that after all that knowledge and all the sides of the arguments and articles of white elephants and scared politicians with word of caution statements. This proposal has serious merit because it has all the tangibles that the city is looking for with the least possible investment and risk finacialy to the city. This group has paid attention to the last 10 years of the Windsor Star and the public. I think that this seriously hinges on the involvement of the Spitfires, and their management group. DON'T NEGLECT THE ST CLAIR HOCKEY TEAM AND THE U OF WINDSOR too, do you know how many people go to watch the U games in London?, this is a hockey city we love the game. With the proper facility and advertisement, people will come. I don't think it's necessary to bring AHL hockey to Windsor. London didn't bring AHL hockey and they are just fine. I think you need to respect the Spits and their investment and wor k long-term with them. I think the location is good with minimal investment in infrastructure. You are probably going to have to widen the highway, matchette and spruce wood around the track. I also think putting multiple pads and partnering with LaSalle and not fighting agenst them to bid on the Hockey, Lacrosse and indoor soccer tournaments and the promotion with the hotels on Huron line and space to build more hotels on the property or around it, would be a great Idea. I would like to thank the two groups for having the guts to think big in a midsize minded town because that is how things get done. As for the politicians, all of the concerns are met with this project and I think the city is better off writing the check and get it done. If the city were to take on this project it would be doomed forever. I can list at least five project that have lost considerable money 1. The candrel Project (32 story state of the art office and entertainment facility and conventi on center) instead we ended up with a 12 story eye sore and parking garage on prime land. 2. The city service center (suppose to save the city in operator cost and last I heard at least 3 million over budget) 3. The children's aid society center (over budget) 4. The Walker road expansion (six years and still counting) 5. The Western Anchor project (dead after 3 million in legal expenses over the last 8 years and I don't know the cost of land accusations but my guess alot) I was in Chicago last weekend and did you know that they built the Sears tower in 3 years and 8 months if anyone is counting that 2 year 8 months less than it has taken to widen Walker road from the airport to Number 3 highway which is still in process. so I beg of anyone in city council please just write the check, because anything this city touches becomes a white elephant. As much as I would love to have faith In this, starting with a project this size is way too ambitious and quite frankly dumb. |

| Comments | Marcel Pronovost, Gord Haidy, Don Head, Lou Bendo, Joel Quenville, Adam Graves, Scott Miller, Bill Bowler, D.J.Smith, Ed Jovonoski, Jason Spezza, Kyle Wellwood, all names that heve achieved greatness through hard work and dedication. Toldo, Rosati-Do you see where I am going with this? Boughner, Rychel, Dobrich and Beller back in the booth. A team with a good work ethic. What more could we ask for? How about an Arena worthy of this tradition and these community minded people. My wife and I volunteered to work at the Super Bowl Gala and I was Impressed with Mayor Francis's involvement. WHERE ARE YOU NOW YOUR WORSHIP? Lets get this done once and for all. Leave the "BARN" to the squirrel and sparrow. They were always off-side anyway. |

| Comments | This is the best idea windsor has come up with and the best thing for this city. This will allow many tourist to come to windsor and stay here instead of travelling to the US for entertainment. If this project is completed I even would like to get involved. All the best and good luck!!! |
