My mother and I both are heavy supporters of ice track. The project looks beautiful and I'd be more than happy to support the yard sign campaign!!
If the city of Windsor turns their back on this project, I think it will be time to turn our back on them and move to Alberta where places actually want to grow and where the economies are booming. Windsor needs HELP!! |

I will not support a city council in November if they turn down this wonderful opportunity for the city and our community. We think this a win win situation. We are very much in favor. |

I was in London at the Labatt Centre about 3 years ago and I thought to myself '' this is the future of OHL hockey'' I've been going to watch the spitfires since 1975 and have always loved the atmosphere the barn has. But the time has come and what I've seen so far i'm very impressed. Also if I could make 1 suggestion , 6,500 seats is not enough . Windsor has waited long enough make it seat 10,000 build for the future . Let's have bragging rights from here to Toronto. |

Good economic boost for the community. With all the negatrivity that is reflected upone the city, ie strip clubs and massage parlours and what have you, this is a good way to freshen the world's view on Windsor. Citing it not so much as a "sin" city but as a family oriented community. |

Great idea and great location. Lots to do all in one location. I know the Spits say it's to close to a gaming outlet to be a good family setting, but what the heck they want to allow beer in the stands at the barn. If I don't want my child exsposed to horse racing or slots I'll stick to the rink. If I don't want them exsposed to drunks I don't have a choice because one might be sitting next to me at the barn.
I believe that the track has the room, the parking and is easy to get to and that is what counts most. |

15 Milliion versus 50 million plus land cost, infrastructure cost, plus operating cost (or losses). There's no question Ice track gets my vote. I can't believe the Spitfires behind a proposal that can potential cost the taxpayers over $100 million if not more. They say they support the community. We'll these costs is not supporting the community it would hurt it. City councillors better be looking at this, Especially since so may many people will be out of work in the next little while. |

After reading this weekend's Windsor Star, I am more than ever in support of Project Ice Track. The Collavino project just does not seem to compare to the Ice Track project. Windsor certainly does not need this city and its taxpayers to continue to "foot the bill" for poorly run city projects. The Cleary Auditorium, who for many years operated in the red and cost the taxpayers millions of dollars is a good example of why the city councillors should seize the opportunity for two successful business leaders to build and run the arena project. The city needs to get out of the arena business and stick to running the city.
Additionally, Windsor needs the entertainment style complex that the Ice Track project proposes. It does not need just a couple of new ice pads (as proposed in the east end project), it needs a family destination, it needs a facility that tour buses will frequent. it needs a tourist attraction. The Ice Track Project is all this and more. The Collavino pro ject falls short.
And finally, I think the statement made by the Spitfiires where they recommended the Collavino project because they want to remain family focused and not be associated with gaming is ludicruous. Perhaps they don't know that Windsor Raceway and horse racing is considered family entertanment. Have they forgotten that Wayne Gretskys restaurant is a family dining establishment? And what about the proposed Sports Hall of Fame- is this not family entertainment. Remember, the Windsor Arena, where the Spits currently play, is a mere one block from one of Ontarios largest gaming facilities and I don't think that has kept the fans away. Come on Spits- lets not be ridiculous. The presence of the Raceway slots on the same property won't hurt you and does not reflect negatively on the Spitfire organization. Get real- isn't the game of hockey bet on in Pro-Line? |

This idea is perfect. You have an experienced developer to do the best job. Traffic problems would be minimal because of the easy access to the raceway and no "downtown" traffic congestion and parking concerns.
But it makes too much sense for any progress to move forward sometime this century, since the fantastic city council we have are right on the ball and will want 15 years to study the location(again) and pay people to come to the conclusion why it is better to just keep the barn and its wonderful history and we also don't want to be like london or sarnia and actually stick a shovel in the ground the same century that they thought about getting a new complex for their city. |

I love the idea of an entertainment venue in this city. The only problem is you want to put it in a location where there is no bus traffic making it only available to those of us who own cars. Another problem is that you are helping to support a very cruel and unwanted industry that many animal lovers do not support! If this didn't help out horse racing I would be in support of it 100% |

As of last year, a bus route has been established, running from Windsor to the Windsor Racetrack and to points beyond. |

As a resident of Windsor I feel this project is a much needed facility in our community, this should have been done many years ago. I applaud your efforts and will be looking forward to attending the new ice track in the near future. Good luck and great job |
